Meesho’s Milestones: 75,000 Sellers See Sales Surge, 10,000 Cross Rs 1 Crore Mark

Around 75,000 Meesho’s sellers experienced double-digit growth, with 20,000 witnessing a 10-fold business increase. Meesho, backed by SoftBank, reported profits and sustained profitability since July, making it the year’s first unicorn e-commerce firm to do so.

Notably, 10,000 Meesho sellers surpassed Rs 1 crore in sales, and 130,000 recorded sales exceeding Rs 1 lakh in 2023. A majority of these sellers, approximately 60%, hail from small towns like Avinashi, Bharuch, Faizabad, and Silchar.

Meesho expanded its seller base by 7 lakh in 2023, reaching a total of 15 lakh sellers. With transactions for 14 crore customers, 80% of orders originated from tier 2 and smaller markets.

Meesho observed a unique shopping trend, with Sundays being the preferred day for customers. The company disclosed a pattern, starting with an early rush at 7 AM and peaking at 3 AM.

Notably, a customer from Surat placed a record-breaking 20,000 orders for artificial jewelry. Over 67 lakh customers turned to Meesho for hair fall control remedies, marking a 40% growth in Beauty & Personal Care.

The platform’s achievements highlight its impact on small sellers and changing consumer habits, emphasizing the growing importance of self-care.
